2. Do you offer services for children or teens?
Yes, we offer counseling services for children and adolescents ages 8 and above. When scheduling, please specify the age and any specific needs, so we can match you with the most suitable provider.
3. How do I schedule an appointment?
You can schedule an appointment by filling out our online Request Form, calling our office, or emailing us. Our team will contact you to confirm your appointment and provide additional instructions.
4. What happens after I schedule an appointment?
After scheduling, you will receive access to our secure client portal. All intake forms and necessary paperwork should be completed through the portal prior to your initial session to help us prepare for your initial session.
5. What should I expect during my first session?
Your first session will typically involve an intake where the therapist will ask about your history, concerns, and goals. It is a safe space to share your experiences, ask questions, and work with the therapist to develop a plan moving forward.
6. Are your services covered by insurance?
We accept some insurance plans. Please contact our office or check with your provider to confirm coverage. If your insurance plan is not accepted, we also offer private pay options. Additionally, we can provide a superbill that you can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement.
7. How much do sessions cost, and do you offer sliding scale fees?
Sessions with our licensed clincians typically range between $125 and $175, while sessions with prelicensed associates are between $80 and $90. We also offer sliding scale fees based on need to ensure our services are accessible to those who require financial assistance. Please contact us for more information about eligibility.
8. What if I don’t feel comfortable with my therapist?
Your comfort is very important. If you feel uncomfortable at any time, please let us know. You can request a different therapist, and we will support you in making that change.
9. How long are therapy sessions?
Sessions are typically 50 minutes, but this can vary depending on your needs and the type of service.
10. Are your counselors licensed?
Yes. Our team includes licensed professionals such as Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFTs) and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors (LPCCs) who are fully licensed by the BBS. We also have prelicensed associates, including Associate Marriage and Family Therapists (AMFTs) and Associate Professional Clinical Counselors (APCCs), who are working towards licensure and are registered with the BBS. They work under supervision to ensure compliance with BBS regulations.
